A Theory On Linkara In ‘The Trial of Peter Parker’ Episode

linkarafans:

I think I get what that scene in the 6th year anniversary episode of AT4W actually meant in terms of plot and meaning. It’s like dream interpretation, I suppose. First off, what I think is Lewis in normal wear. How he’s setting up the camera represents what Nimue mentioned during the ‘Ghost in the Machine’ arc: “The accession of the everyday man”. That’s his base, and shows confusion at the sight of what is probably the King of Worms. The laughter becomes clearer in significance later on.

Next is either a representation of the present Linkara and/or Holokara, with the later being what I’m going with as it makes a lot of sense with the theme I think is present. Holokara’s a figurative mirror to Linkara, being his hologram and all, and so naturally, his words are said backwards.

Then, bringing clarify with hindsight is Mechakara, as the voice having a robotic edge gives away. He seems to translate whatever Holokara had said, and when he begins to say something new, Holokara begins to laugh maniacally. Mechakara then joins in, and begins to shout words to the like of:

“WE ARE INSIDE OF/(or it might be) WITH YOU! YOU WILL NEVER ESCAPE! YOUR PAIN WILL NEVER END!”

-As then we see lord Vyce stabbing Linkara with a kind of knife (From the ‘Cry For Justice’ review, I believe), Jearis strangling Linkara up against a wall with a murderous look in his eyes, and then Harvey.

I think why the lounge singer’s even here is remnant of how Harvey shot him not even 24 hours ago, or at least a duplicate of him did anyways. But it’s kinda hard to tell why he would otherwise be there at all. However, as he opens his mouth, a special laugh is heard in a voice that has been missing for about 3 years-

The Entity. Who is laughing like mad at Linkara’s suffering, while behind him on the fridge lies a message that reads: Sleepwalk through Eternity. And here, after watching the scene over ten times in the same 8 hours, I think I’ve got it.

Once this occurred to me, it all seemed to make sense. When 90’s kid was released from the Entity’s control, and it “supposedly” died, who was the only other person in the room? Linkara. Who was the one who seemed mildly dazed after witnessing the Entity ‘explode’? Linkara. The Entity was- and IS smart, and in all likelihood, I’m betting on it having left a fragment of itself in Linkara, just in case the exploration of the afterlife and death was dissatisfactory or proved as finally known after a period of time. And WHO, time after time again, insisted that the Entity was dead, despite the points and concerns of others? Linkara. Who kept disregarding it, nearly forgetting it, it seemed? Linkara. Why did Holokara turn evil and a bit cookoo? Well, how about this:

The Entity returned, to the notice of none, and began feeding itself back into the world through the fragment left dormant in Linkara. In a bit of vengeance, but more so for its own sense of twisted fun, it began playing around with Linkara’s mind and soul, which is where it resided. It found out about old enemies, and saw his experiences. Savoring his pain, finding such hilarity in it, the Entity took some of those memories and those impressions others had made. And began to create a small realm within the reviewer for itself to make the hero go through those turmoils again and again for its delight. Bringing Linkara’s worst nightmares to life and made him subconscious be driven insane through endless torture from within his very soul, as the Entity continued to expand and grow more powerful; more amused as it put the review through other things Linkara would later on not recall. But the Entity knew better that to let its only way of escape and way to return be lost. So it put up barriers and protection, to keep Linkara HIS. The King of Worms was NOTHING to the Entity, and it was simple to repel the platinum mask and clockwork soldier which had come before. However, once the King invaded it’s realm, interrupted it’s fun, the Entity stopped laughing. It turned and looked directly at the King of Worms, and poured its anger and rage into the pitiful Outer God, causing the King to fear like he never had before.

I think that Missingno is not only using Linkara as a means to grow stronger in shelter, and eventually to make a full return, but also may be driving Linkara to insanity and then restoring that sanity to establish control and triggers. Maybe to make Linkara its permanent host or to something to the like, but the reviewer is definitely an instrument of some kind to the Entity.

Now as for the Holokara thing: If the Entity wasn’t present to maintain Linkara’s sanity (ironically as it’d be what was driving him so insane to begin with), then that scan of how Linkara’s mind works would of course slowly deteriorate into madness or evil for lack of stability. Hence Holokara’s descent into sinister and twisted thinking, why he unwound so quickly rather than the gradual slip of the original.

Just as a reminder, by the way: Holokara is aboard Jearis’s ship, or somewhere that the Gunslinger put him for later. Mechakara is lying in wait and without a body. Vyce is still around(EDIT: in a Shade), as is Jaris, and the Entity of the only one that follows that rhyme of being dead. How long do you suppose that would last with a line such as “Those who are dead are not dead, we’re just waiting here, inside your head”?

-Or~ maybe I’m just REALLY over-thinking all this. It’s just a fun theory I came up with the day of the release of the ‘Trial of Peter Parker, and I had a lot of fun coming up with it. Even if this doesn’t hold up as more is revealed, I hope you enjoyed it too. Either way, I loved the episode and bring on the AT4W movie in all its awesomeness!!!

(Cool stuff -Miss)
